The House of Kabob

A few years ago in Washington DC, I was at an after-party event following an Axis of Evil comedy show. At the venue, word was getting around that famous House music producers DEEP DISH were, well, in the house. The buzz struck me by how popular the duo are in some (Dupont) circles. To my knowledge they're the only Iranian-Americans to win a Grammy so that's something right there.

Back in the mid 90s I read a spread in THE FACE (UK) -- one of the coolest mags of all time -- and Deep Dish seemed like two chill dudes from northern Virginia, growing up in the heavily Persian-inhabited apartment complex The Rotunda.

Both members of the headlining duo have solo projects out currently. Sharam (why he doesn't have the second 'h' in his name we will never know) sent out a bulletin about his nationwide tour this week. Check it out if he comes around your town.

Or better yet, check out his mega-popular vid featuring Daniel Bedingfield.
